Corn Gluten Meal
Corn Gluten Meal (CGM) is obtained during the wet milling of corn for starch production. The protein-rich fraction is separated and dried to produce a yellow powdered feed material.
CGM provides concentrated plant protein and contributes to the amino acid profile of balanced feed formulations. It is distinct from Corn Gluten Feed, which contains a greater proportion of fibre and substantially less protein.
Nutritional benefits
A source of protein, including sulphur-containing amino acids such as methionine and cystine. Naturally occurring yellow pigments also make it useful in poultry feeding programmes where pigmentation is desired.
Application
Poultry and other livestock feeds, pet food and aqua feed. Inclusion levels should be determined according to the supplied specification and the amino acid balance of the complete diet.
